Terms of Service

The short version

The Dating Waitlist is a tool that lets you create a personal waitlist for people interested in dating you. By using it, you agree to use it for personal matchmaking and nothing else. Don't impersonate anyone, don't harass anyone, don't harvest data, don't spam. We can remove waitlists that break these rules.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old. By creating a waitlist or applying to one, you confirm that you are 18 or older. The service is not intended for minors and we will remove any account or application we learn belongs to a minor.

What you agree not to do

By using The Dating Waitlist, you agree NOT to:

• Impersonate another person, real or fictional, including public figures.
• Harass, threaten, dox, or intimidate anyone — applicants, hosts, or third parties.
• Use the service to collect, scrape, or resell anyone's personal information.
• Submit false or misleading information in an application or waitlist.
• Use the service for commercial purposes, including paid matchmaking, escort services, or solicitation of any kind.
• Attempt to bypass our access controls, rate limits, or bot protection.
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

User-generated content

When you fill out an application or create a waitlist, you provide content (your name, your answers, your link, your waitlist's prompts and display name). You retain ownership of that content. You grant us a limited license to display it within the service as needed to make the product work.

You are responsible for the content you submit. We do not pre-screen submissions, but we may remove content that violates these Terms.

Reports and takedowns

If you see a waitlist that impersonates someone, harasses someone, or otherwise violates these Terms, email thedatingwaitlist@gmail.com with the URL and a brief description. We review reports as quickly as we reasonably can and remove waitlists that violate these Terms.

For copyright claims under the DMCA, send a properly-formatted notice to the same email address. Include the work allegedly infringed, the URL of the infringing material, your contact information, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder.

Emails we send

We send transactional emails only — confirmations of applications, notifications of decisions, magic-link sign-in emails. We do not send marketing or promotional emails. We do not have a newsletter. There is nothing to unsubscribe from.

If a transactional email is not relevant to you (for example, you forwarded your inbox to a friend), you can delete your application or waitlist from inside the service and the emails will stop.

Account termination

You can delete your waitlist or your application at any time from inside the service. Deletion is automatic and irreversible.

We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, with or without notice. When that happens, associated data is deleted on the schedule described in our Privacy Policy.

No guarantees

The service is provided as-is. We do not verify the identity of hosts or applicants. We do not promise that any application will be approved, that any conversation will go well, or that any date will happen. We are a tool, not a matchmaking service.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Dating Waitlist and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us — which, for the free service, is zero.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from your use of the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.

Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For substantive changes, we will notify registered hosts by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
